Data We Collect

The current version of CSV Diff & Exception Review does not collect or transmit personal data, browsing history, website content, analytics, usage telemetry, financial information, authentication information, or CSV contents.

CSV files selected by the user may contain personal or sensitive information, but their contents are processed locally in the browser and are not transmitted to us.

Local Storage

The extension may use browser localStorage solely to remember the user's appearance preference: System, Light, or Dark. This preference does not contain CSV data.

File Processing

  • CSV files are selected explicitly by the user.
  • File processing and comparison happen locally in the browser.
  • Generated comparison results remain local to the user's device.
  • A downloadable review CSV is created locally only after the user chooses to download it.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties.

Remote Services

The current version does not upload CSV data, use analytics services, use advertising services, or use remote code for the extension's functionality. It has no accounts, authentication, Google APIs, or backend for its core CSV comparison function.

Permissions

The extension's only Chrome permission is sidePanel. It is used only to display the extension interface in Chrome's Side Panel. The extension does not request host permissions.

Data Retention

Because CSV contents are not transmitted to our servers, we do not retain copies of user CSV files or comparison results. The local theme preference may remain in the user's browser until it is changed, cleared, or the extension is removed.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information through the extension.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if the extension's functionality or data practices change. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
